”Chronos in Ink” använder två Hongkong-dansares kroppar för att väva en dialektik av minne och trauma. Publiken förvandlar sirener och rop till färg, och lämnar ljudens avtryck på dansarnas hud.
Ljudet av rivna kalenderblad skär genom tiden. Medan dagarna går börjar kroppen ifrågasätta; lemmarna bryter sig loss från dansens form och förvandlas till kamp. De kolliderar med luften och försöker fly, inte bara från de förlorade dagarna utan också från det ärr som rättvisan lämnat efter sig.
Detta är en delad smärta, upplevd av sju miljoner människor. Både de innanför gallren och de som är utanför är fångar. Vi står alla under samma sol och räknar de sönderrivna fragmenten av tid.
Verkets dansare Chiu Ka Chun Marco och Law Hiu Yan Pocky, hämtar inspiration från protesterna i Hongkong från 2019 till nu. Genom sin dans lyfter de fram samhällsfrågor som på andra sidan jorden blivit tabubelagda, samtidigt som de påminner människor i Sverige om hur värdefull deras välfärd är – och att den inte bör tas för givet.

”Chronos in Ink” uses the bodies of two Hong Kong dancers as a medium to weave a dialectic of memory and trauma. The audience transforms sirens and shouts into paint, inscribing impressions of sound on the dancers’ bodies.
The sound of tearing calendar pages slices through the dimensions of time. As days pass, the body begins to question; the limbs break free from the framework of dance, and gradually fracture into struggle. They collide with the air, trying to escape not only the stolen days but also the scar related to justice.
This is a specimen of pain shared by seven million people, where both those inside and outside of the iron bars are prisoners—we are all under the same sunlight, counting the fragments of time that have been torn apart.
Chiu Ka Chun Marco and Law Hiu Yan Pocky, the creative performers of this work, draw inspiration from the protests in Hong Kong from 2019 to present day. Through dance, they reveal social issues that have become taboos on the other side of the globe, while conveying to the people of Sweden the precious welfare of their social environment, which should not be taken for granted.
