För många är 3D-print fortfarande science fiction. Inte så konstigt om man aldrig kommit nära tekniken eller sett den användas i praktiken. På Åsadalen kan du testa hur den funkar!
Tekniken som gör det möjligt att skriva ut exempelvis funktionella reservdelar, smycken och heminredningsdetaljer har funnits sedan slutet på 1980-talet.
Sedan dess har utvecklingen gått från ren science fiction i labbet till en växande industri för 3D-produktion av olika objekt. Med hjälp av AI spås 3D-print bli en teknik där vem som helst utan förkunskaper och fet plånbok kan skapa unika objekt.
Enkelt uttryckt är 3D-printing ett sätt att utifrån digitala modeller skriva ut tredimensionella kopior i plast. På Åsadalen kan du själv se och vara med och prova tekniken i workshopen 3D Verkstad.
Workshopen leds av Vincent Eriksson, deltagare i skolans allmänna kurs. Dagen till ära lånar han ut sin egen 3D-skrivare.
– Om du har någon idé eller specifik grej du skulle behöva i fysisk form, kan jag designa på plats och skriva ut den, lockar han.
För att ge en bild av vad som är möjligt, har Vincent också tagit med sig 3D-modeller som han tillverkat själv.
– Jag förklarar så gott jag kan och diskuterar gärna hur maskineriet fungerar, säger han.
3D Verkstad är en drop-in-workshop som pågår klockan 11–13 och 14–16.

The technology that allows you to print functional spare parts, jewelry, and home décor items has been around since the late 1980s. Since then, 3D printing has evolved from pure lab-based science fiction into a growing industry for producing a wide range of objects.
With the help of AI, 3D printing is expected to become a technology that enables anyone—without prior experience or a large budget—to create unique objects.
Simply put, 3D printing is a way of producing three-dimensional plastic objects from digital models. At Åsadalen, you can see the technology up close and take part yourself in our 3D workshop.
It is led by Vincent Eriksson, a participant in the school’s general course. For the occasion, he is bringing his own 3D printer.
– If you have an idea or a specific object you’d like in physical form, I can design it on the spot and print it, he says.
To give a sense of what’s possible, Vincent has also brought along 3D models he has created himself.
– I’ll explain as clearly as I can and I’m happy to discuss how the machinery works, he adds.
The 3D workshop is a drop-in workshop running from 11:00–13:00 and 14:00–16:00.
